GOOI Chi Duan

Chi Duan is a Partner in our Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice.

She specialises in general civil and commercial litigation, with particular emphasis on the area of intellectual property.

She regularly represents our clients from a wide range of industries in civil and criminal proceedings before the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) and the Singapore Courts for the protection and enforcement of various forms of intellectual property rights, including trademarks, copyright, designs, patents. As a general litigator, she acted in the first constructive dismissal claim, which is a landmark case in Singapore.

Chi Duan is a regular contributor to the "Doing Business" series of Annual Reports co-published by The World Bank and the International Finance Corporation. She also volunteers regularly as a legal consultant for the public consultation sessions organised by the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS).

Chi Duan graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) degree from the National University of Singapore in 1996. After serving her pupillage with Wee Swee Teow & Company and subsequently, with Donaldson & Burkinshaw, she was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in May 1997. She joined Donaldson & Burkinshaw in 1997.
