CHUA Shang Li


Shang Li is a Salaried Partner with the Intellectual Property Practice. He joined Donaldson & Burkinshaw in 2007 after completing his pupillage with the LLP and specializes in the area of intellectual property law.

He is involved in both non-contentious and contentious aspects of intellectual property matters and manages the intellectual property portfolios of the Firm’s local and international clients. He undertakes advisory work related to trade marks, passing off, copyright and industrial designs, including clearance searches, filing, prosecution, maintenance and commercialization of rights. Shang Li also actively represents the Firm’s clients in the protection and enforcement of their rights and regularly undertakes opposition, invalidation and revocation proceedings before the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (“IPOS”) and the Courts.

Shang Li graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) degree from the University of Liverpool in 2005 and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2007.
