Kana is a Patent Engineer in the Firm’s Intellectual Property Practice.

Kana gr­aduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor degree in Biomedical Engineering (Honours), specialising in Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering. In recognition of her outstanding scholastic achievements, she was placed in the Dean’s List during her undergraduate studies.

Prior to joining Donaldson & Burkinshaw LLP, Kana was involved in research work in the area of microfluidics and tissue engineering where she studied the use of a patient-derived micro-tumour chip for personalised cancer drug testing at the National University of Singapore’s Micro-Tissue Engineering Laboratory, in collaboration with the Genome Institute of Singapore, A*STAR. She was also involved in other biomedical engineering projects related to developing medical devices, such as a fracture fixation device for wrist fractures and a diagnostic tool for scoliosis.
