Tai Choon Fai
Choon Fai graduated from the Queen's University,
U.K., with a
B.Eng. (Electrical and Electronics). He worked for several years as a research
and development engineer and was involved in areas like digital signal
processing, audio compression technologies and software
development for real time systems. He went
on to obtain a LL.B. (Hons) in 2002 from
the Queen Mary
College, London,
under Singapore
government sponsorship, and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of
the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2005.
He started patent practice in 2000 with Siemens AG and was involved in
the drafting and prosecution of patents in technologies such as semiconductor
process, medical devices, instrumentation, mechanical and mechatronics systems. Choon Fai
joined Donaldson & Burkinshaw in 2005 and is
presently involved in preparation and prosecution of patent
applications, rendering legal opinions in respect of patent validity and
patent infringement matters, trade mark registration and prosecution as well as advisory
work on issues related to intellectual property.
