SOO Yu-Han Jessica

Jessica is a Senior Associate with the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice of Donaldson & Burkinshaw. Her practice areas include general, civil, commercial and medical litigation.

As part of the firm’s Medico-Legal Practice Group, Jessica currently advises and represents MPS member doctors in Singapore Medical Council disciplinary proceedings, civil claim cases, criminal matters and Coroner’s Inquiries. Her portfolio also includes general litigation with focus on civil, commercial, criminal, quasi-criminal, financial and insolvency cases.

During her time in practice, Jessica has handled a wide variety of litigation matters (contractual and tortious disputes, debt recovery and bankruptcy proceedings, insurance litigation, personal injury claims, probate and matrimonial proceedings) as well as corporate matters (mergers and consolidations, acquisition of shares and businesses, company incorporation and business registration). In addition, she served as legal counsel with the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore for a number of years, advising on regulatory policies, administrative and competition law, drafting and interpretation of statutory acts and regulations, enforcement of regulatory obligations, contentious and litigious matters, corporate governance and contractual issues such as those relating to government procurement contracts.

Jessica is a member of the Law Society and the Singapore Academy of Law. She has been a participant of the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme since 2004 and has volunteered at the Community Legal Clinic organised by the Law Society Pro Bono Services.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) Degree from the National University of Singapore in 2003, Jessica was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2004. She joined Donaldson & Burkinshaw in March 2010.
