Magdalene is a Partner in our Corporate and Commercial Practice.
Magdalene has extensive experience in a wide spectrum of general corporate and commercial matters (including, wealth management, financial services, employment, franchise, corporate and joint venture arrangements).
Prior to joining Donaldson & Burkinshaw, Magdalene worked at a local bank handling banking and loan transactions before taking on the role of legal counsel for several years in Singapore Tourism Board advising, drafting and interpretation of statutory acts and regulations, enforcement, statutory reviews, contentious and litigious matters, and contractual issues covering government procurement contracts, entertainment, sponsorships, technology, media and employment. She also spent several years at financial institutions undertaking various senior roles in legal, operations and claims areas (at the biggest life insurer in Singapore) and legal/ compliance role (in an insurer focused on High-Net Worth/ Wealth Management) covering all aspects of corporate, insurance (both general and life insurance), trust and financial services matters.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) degree from University of London and was called to the English Bar in 1995. She was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 1996. She joined Donaldson & Burkinshaw in 2010.
She currently serves as a member of the Law Society’s Corporate Practice Committee (covering companies and corporate law review) and the International Relations Committee (responsible for hosting foreign delegations and overseas missions).

She is also an active member of the Singapore Institute of Directors (a national association of company directors that promotes the professional development of directors and corporate leaders).
