YEO Ah Cheng

Ah Cheng is a Senior Legal Executive specialising in trade mark and industrial design matters. She handles trade mark searches and filings besides assisting in all aspects trade mark prosecution work in Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei.

Ah Cheng joined Donaldson & Burkinshaw in 1988. Even before joining Donaldson & Burkinshaw, she had already gained many years of experience in handling trade mark applications when she was a Trade Mark Examiner at the Singapore Registry of Trade Marks (now Intellectual Property Office of Singapore) from 1976 to 1988. She was primarily involved in searches, examination of trade marks, attending to public enquiries on objections raised by the Registry and assisting public on the various aspects of trademark work. She was also involved and assisted in the re-organisation of the work systems and initial computerisation program of the trade mark systems in the Registry of Trade Marks.

Ah Cheng obtained her Higher School Certificate (Full Cert) in 1967. From 1975, she handled various duties in an executive capacity at the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health after working for a period at the Singapore National Library.
